Police are appealing for witnesses to the circumstances leading up to a road traffic collision in Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
Officers were called at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 when a red Skoda Fabia collided with a blue Renault Clio and a garden wall in the Fitzroy Street area.
Five teenagers were travelling in the Skoda. Two received minor injuries. One of the five was the driver, a 17-year-old male from Shanklin, Isle of Wight.
Suspicion of dangerous driving
He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, questioned at Newport police station, and bailed until April 2, 2012 pending further enquiries.
The Renault Clio driver, a 40-year-old woman from Sandown on the island, also received minor injuries.
Convoy of cars
The Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit is investigating reports that the red Skoda Fabia and another two cars, a black Citroen Saxo and a black Mitsubishi, were being driven in a convoy in and around Ryde town centre and Esplanade at approximately 9pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
Officers are also looking for any sightings of the three cars in convoy over the next 45 minutes on the main road through Brading into Sandown, particularly on Sandown High Street after 9.30pm on the same night.
