Police Appeal For Missing Person on the Isle of Wight

Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a vulnerable 22-year-old missing man.

Officers are concerned for the welfare of Matthew George Hill from Newport, Isle of Wight.

He was last seen on Friday, September 19, at approximately 8.00pm in the Newport area.

At this time, Matthew was wearing:

● A dark brown T-shirt with ‘ANIMAL’ written across the chest in a lighter shade of brown.
● White-coloured trainers.
● Beige-coloured three-quarter length trousers with zips that turn them into shorts.

Matthew is described as:

● White
● 5 foot 10 inches tall
● Slim build

Matthew Hill was reported missing to police officers at 9.55am yesterday (Sunday, September 21).

Air and land searches of the Newport area were carried out on Sunday.

Further searches are being carried out today (Monday, September 22) by officers from Newport CID, Hampshire Constabulary’s Dog Support Unit, and Force Support Unit.

Police are appealing for Matthew to get in touch with his family or officers to let them know he is safe and well.

Anyone who sees Matthew is asked not to approach him directly because he is in vulnerable condition, but contact detectives at Newport CID on 0845 045 45 45.
