A well-known and talented Isle of Wight guitarist had two classic guitars stolen from his house last night.
The theft of loved guitars would be bad enough, but what makes it worse is that they are his working tools.
It’s the way Ric Harris makes his living.
Ric woke up at 2am to find the thieves in his home and chased them away, but not before the one had already picked up two of Ric’s treasured guitars.
Guitars recovered by Police this morning
Luckily for Ric, the two guitars have already been recovered by Police and he’s soon to be reunited with his early 90s Japanese Fender Strat and goldtop Les Paul.
Well done to the Island police for their quick work and to the musical community for their messages of support.
As well as helping spread the word of the theft, Ric received offers from fellow musicians of guitars to borrow, so he could carry on working.
Three cheers all round!
