Police seek man ‘in his 70s; 6ft tall; Very large build’ over Newport road rage

Police are seeking a driver and vehicle after an alleged assault occurred following an altercation between two motorists at St Georges Way, junction with Trafalger Way in Newport.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Friday, October 12, 2012.

It involved a 45-year-old man driving a green Kia Shuma and an older man in a blue Landrover Freelander.

Police are keen to speak to the driver of the Freelander. He is described as:

White
Aged in his 70s
6ft tall
Very large build

PC Edward Stenning, of Newport police station, said: “Incidents of road rage are rare on the island and with the use of CCTV and ANPR cameras prosecution against dangerous and inconsiderate drivers will be pursued.

“We would also like to hear from any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any information which could help us with our investigation.”
