Isle of Wight band CHAMPS, aka Michael and David Champion, have been going down a storm as they tour the UK prior to their debut album release on 10th March.
A beautiful, crisp vinyl copy of the new album, Down Like Gold (which for a limited period you can stream free of charge through The Line of Best Fit) and single, St Peters, landed on our doorstep this week.
Great Island talent
We’ve been following CHAMPS since they first formed and have had nothing but admiration for their musical talent.
The album is a collection of sublime tracks, each with their own character and energy.
Listening to the vinyl with the sun coming up this morning was a moment of great beauty and in our view, something everyone should experience.
Update: Michael has just told us that we are the first people in the world to receive the vinyl – even he doesn’t have a copy yet! That makes it all the more special for us.

There’s still time to see CHAMPS play live. They play Shepherd’s Bush Empire tonight (5th), the Concorde in Brighton tomorrow (6th) and then hit London on 31 March.

In between touring, the lads have been busy making a music video for their single St Peters. It’s been filmed in the French Alps and judging by the taster video, is going to look spectacular.
