The plight of those people who have had to leave their homes because of the landslip on Undercliff Drive is continuing – they still haven’t been able to move back to their homes.
OnTheWight is very grateful to have been sent a very revealing set of photos, again taken within the area that Isle of Wight council has attempted to block the media from entering.
A whole new perspective
This latest set gives a view that hardly anyone has seen – from within the actual landslip itself. They give a whole new perspective of how much lower the land within landslip area is than the previous road and house level.
It also contains close-up shots of where the newly-installed concrete wall has been broken into pieces. OnTheWight was told by those on site that it had to be broken, as they feared that if that hadn’t happened, there was a danger that the whole lot may be dragged down the hill.
