Puppy Killed In Appley Dog Attack: Police Appeal

You may have heard the story circulating about a puppy being attacked on Appley Beach. We’ve been on to the Police to find out details and they’ve just sent us this, in their words – Ed.

Charlie the PuppyPolice are investigating after receiving a report of a dog attacking a puppy at Appley Beach, Ryde at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, January 11.

The 13-week-old cocker spaniel cross poodle puppy was being walked by its owner and was let off the lead. While off the lead it was attacked by a two year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, also off the lead.

The puppy died as a result of its injuries.

Police are in the process of taking statements from the owners of the dogs to ascertain whether any criminal offences have been committed.
