In the School of Saint Benedict: Benedictine Spirituality for Every Christian
Abbot Xavier’s book In the School of Saint Benedict: Benedictine Spirituality for Every Christian presents the spiritual tradition which is lived at Quarr Abbey in a way that enables the reader to join in it, with an understanding of its history and many manifestations.

The Mystery of Identity
Father Luke’s The Mystery of Identity guides the reader through our culture’s concerns about identity and along the spiritual path that leads to the receiving of a true, God-given identity.

Excellent reviews
Both books have received excellent reviews.

A reviewer from the Monastic Fraternity of Jerusalem wrote of In the School of Saint Benedict, “This accessible book is to be recommended to all those who want to discover a wisdom of life for our own times”, and it was described in a monastic journal as “an attractive book, easy to read and well documented for the discovery and sampling of the precious heritage of Benedictine spirituality”.

John Cottingham, Professor of Philosophy and Honorary Fellow of Saint John’s College, Oxford, wrote in The Tablet of Father Luke’s “rich and often moving reflections on the mystery of identity”.

His book was described as “one of the most finely-tuned studies of any topic that I have read for a long time” by Peter Kwasniewski, Professor of theology and philosophy, who gave it “five stars for its sustained intensity of analysis, its flashes of insight on every page, its deft use of vivid characters from great literature, and its spiritually provocative and nourishing wisdom”.
