The Better Days Cafe in Ventnor will be celebrating the wonderful Post War era of 1953 in June to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Kirsty Chapman shared the latest details with News OnTheWight,
“We will be dressing in 1950’s attire and will listen to same music that was being played on the radio in 1953.
“We’ll even eat the the same food, corned beef sandwiches, pork pies, piccalilli and boiled eggs.
“There’ll be tea in real China crockery.”
The event is intended as a step back in time for those who were there.
Kirsty adds,
“If you work in a residential home or have elderly parents, grandparents or neighbours, bring them along for some nostalgia.”
Where and when
The event takes place on Saturday 4th June from 10am-4pm at the Better Days Cafe, 64 High Street, Ventnor PO38 1LT (opposite the Central Car Park, next to Tesco Express).
