Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Bob Seely, has come under fire the way he voted in Parliament last night on the Prime Minister’s Plan B tightening Covid measures.
Explaining how he would be voting, the MP (pictured right) had told the House,
“I am fed up with dubious forecasts and ridiculous extrapolations the kind of which many of us have talked about.”
Quigley: I am tired of his own ‘dubious forecast’
In response to the vote, which saw Seely vote against Covid passes, Isle of Wight councillor for Cowes North, Richard Quigley (Lab), who also stood in the 2017 General Election for the Labour Party, told News OnTheWight,
“If Bob Seely was truly interested in the liberty and wellbeing of Isle of Wight residents and the UK population at large, he has had many chances to prove it.
“He could have chosen not to vote in favour to cuts to council funding, or voted against the Health and Social Care Bill or even voted against the pumping of sewage into our seas, but he didn’t.
“I am tired of his own ‘dubious forecast’ that he had secured an Island deal, which he now admits he hadn’t.”
Quigley: MP is distancing himself from spiraling PM
Cllr Quigley (pictured left) goes on to say,
“So what our MP is really doing is re-branding himself as a rebel to both excuse his own lockdown-breaking BBQ and distance himself from his spiraling PM.
“It’s quite clear Bob is more interested in Bob than anyone on the Island.”
