Raiders Need Three Wins To Clinch League

The Wightlink Raiders need three wins from four games to be sure of the ENL First Division title and the players have been training hard in preparation for this weekend’s two games.

Tomorrow the Raiders take on the reigning play off champions Bracknell Hornets at Ryde Arena before travelling to Essex to take on namesakes Romford Raiders on Sunday.

Jeremy Cornish’s Island team are currently on a run of 22 games without defeat, the best sequence of results in the club’s history, and if they stay unbeaten after this weekend they’ll find themselves on the brink of winning their first trophy in a decade.

Hornets defeated Raiders last year
Bracknell tasted glory themselves last year beating the Raiders in the play off final but have struggled this year and find themselves in 9th place, just out of the play off positions.

Former Raiders captain Danny Hughes is among their star names along with another ex Raider Luke Reynolds.

Face off at Ryde Arena tomorrow night is at 6pm and another bumper crowd is expected for the match.
