Rainbow Run 2023: Wessex Cancer Trust revamps fundraiser with video game theme – Sponsorships key for future

Wessex Cancer Trust’s Rainbow Run, which takes place on Sunday 25th June to raise funds for Islanders affected by cancer, has been given a new lease of life with its new video game theme and jam-packed entertainment village – but organisers say it may be the last if participants don’t raise sponsorship for their runs.

Brand new obstacles on the 3km course, including a fabulous optional slip ‘n’ slide, live music and event sponsor, WightFibre, on site with their WightFibre bus, will make the Island’s happiest 3k a sure hit to kick off summer.

But if Wessex Cancer Trust are to keep hosting the event, ALL runners need to raise their minimum sponsorship of £50.

Haytack: Without sponsorship we can’t raise what we need for Islanders affected by cancer
Laura Haytack, Wessex Cancer Trust’s Regional Fundraising Manager, said,

“Rainbow Run is one of our most popular events on the Island every year and we don’t want it to be our last. The ticket price covers the cost of putting the event on, so without sponsorship we can’t raise what we need for Islanders affected by cancer.

“We’re thrilled to be giving Rainbow Run a shake up with a video game theme and a giant entertainment village, packed with a full day of fun for all our incredible supporters. After all, we wouldn’t be able to offer the support we do without everyone taking part and raising sponsorship.”

Entire entertainment village
An entire entertainment village this year means a whole lot more fun for runners and spectators, packed with activities and games. Attendees can enjoy live music from Ear Candy and Platform One band, The Bandits.

Award-winning entertainer, AJ, will also be performing and is one not to miss.

Tracey’s Facepainting will be offering free facepainting, while Adam Art, will be offering people their own personalised caricatures, as well as much more yet to be announced.

Where and when
Rainbow Run take place on Sunday 25th June 2023, 10am – 4pm at the IW County Showground, Northwood.

Those participating will have a minimum target sponsorship of £50.
