A very special service to remember loved ones who have died will be held at Mountbatten this Christmas (4th December).
Light up a Life is open to everyone, not just those who have been supported by Mountbatten, offering the Isle of Wight community the time and space to remember someone special.
Online Remembrance Tree
There is also the opportunity, for a small donation, to dedicate a light in memory of a loved one on Mountbatten’s online Remembrance Tree.
Nigel Hartley, Mountbatten CEO, said,
“Every year, our community comes together for Light up a Life, to celebrate the lives of those we love who have died.
“It is always a very poignant service and a really special opportunity to share our memories together.”
Donations and dedications
Anyone who donates via Mountbatten’s Website or the downloadable form will receive a special pack containing a candle to light.
For all dedications received by 26th November, the names of loved ones will appear on screen during the service at Mountbatten.
Choir and Marching Band
The service will feature the Mountbatten Choir and Medina Marching Band, plus solo singers and members of the Mountbatten team giving readings.
Remembrance Tree
The lights on the Remembrance Tree at Mountbatten will also be switched on during the service, which will start at 4pm on Sunday 4th December.
Mountbatten’s bereavement volunteers and staff will be present during the evening to offer support.
