Remembrance Sunday on the Isle of Wight

Today is Remembrance Sunday – The day to think about all of those who have lost their lives during battle.

It has particular resonance this year as 2014 marks the one hundred anniversary of the start of World War One.

Shockingly it’s thought that 10 million military personnel plus about seven million civilians lost their lives in World War One, with another 20 million wounded.

There are many services across the Isle of Wight today at churches and war memorials. If you can’t go along to one of the services, you can still remember from home or work at 11am.
