January 2024 was the busiest Repair Cafe session to date. An achievement worthy of celebration for this group of volunteers who launched the project in a little room in Newport in 2020.
With the wind in their sails, the Repair Cafe team are shifting gears in February and will be hosted by their friends at Ventnor Exchange.
Repair Cafe on the road
A spokesperson for Repair Cafe said,
“We know that some potential users of the Repair Cafe may find it difficult to reach Newport so we’re testing out what happens when we bring the Repair Cafe to people in different areas around the Island.
“All our repairers are volunteers and will do their best to repair or give advice on items brought for attention at the next instalment of the Repair Café. We’ll be ready to help you on Saturday 10th February at Ventnor Exchange in Ventnor starting at 1000hrs!”
You will need to book one of the free 30 minute slots to secure your repairer.
The more detail you provide in the booking form, the more likely they’ll be to help you on the day by making sure they have the tools and supplies they need at hand.

The next Repair Cafe will be held on Saturday 10th February between 10am and 12pm.
