Road Surfacing Programme Starts Soon Say Council

Welcome news for many. This news just in from the IW Council, in their own words. Ed

A number of road surfaces across the Isle of Wight will be improved over the next month as part of an annual road maintenance scheme.

Over 30 roads will undergo a process known as ‘surface dressing’ which is designed to seal and protect the road surface and increase the levels of grip.

Disruption will be minimised
Among the roads due to be improved include parts of Yarmouth Road, Whippingham Road, Forest Road and Briddlesford Road.

Although some road closures will be required during the works, surface dressing only takes a few hours in each area, minimising disruption.

The programme of works will get underway on 7 April and should be completed before the main Easter holidays
