BRADING:
Marshcombe Shute. One way restriction. A one way restriction is in operation in Marshcombe Shute in an Eastbound direction (towards Bembridge) from a point 45 metres to the East of Yarbridge Crossroads to Yaverland Road junction from 3.30pm on Tuesday 16 September 2014. The one way restriction is necessary due to the installation of larger temporary safety barriers which have been erected in the interests of road safety by Island Roads adjacent to the railway and River Yar bridges. The vehicle restraint options for B3395 Marshcombe Shute are being considered in consultation with interested parties. Because of the steps that need to be taken before work can begin on site, it is expected that the scheme will be completed by the end of April 2015. The one way system will also stay in place until the works are completed. A full road closure of a few days will be required. The alternative route for all traffic travelling in a Westbound towards Yarbridge Crossroads Brading direction will be; B3395 Yaverland Road and Culver Parade, Fort Street, Avenue Road A3055 Morton Road and Morton Common. The one- way restriction will then be removed. The 6ft 6in width restriction in Yaverland Road, Yaverland will be temporarily suspended whilst the one way restriction is in operation. High Street will be closed from 7pm until 5.30am on each night between Monday 9 February 2015 and approximately Wednesday 11 February 2015) from Market Hill to Town Quay. The diversion route will be: High Street, Bath Road, The Parade, Castle Hill, Baring Road, Ward Avenue, Park Road and Terminus Road. From 11.30pm until 5.30am on each night (Mondays to Thursdays) between Thursday 12 February 2015 and Thursday 26 February 2015 High Street will be closed between Town Quay and Carvel Lane. The diversion route will be: Carvel Lane, Terminus Road Park Road, Union Road, Market Hill and High Street. Vehicular access will be maintained to the Red Funnel Terminal during the works. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip. A3020 Medina Way (northern carriageway) A temporary 40 mph speed restriction will be in operation on the northbound carriageway of A3020 Medina Way from a point 50 metres to the north (St Marys Roundabout side) of the junction with the Fairlee Link Road (adjacent to the south eastern end of Medina Bridge) to the start of the existing 40 mph speed restriction near St Marys Roundabout. ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton.
Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be;
