Roderick Drew cycling 4,000 miles with Olympic Torch Relay (podcast)

When the Olympic Torch Relay left the Isle of Wight two weeks ago, we were lucky enough to travel with it on Red Funnel’s Red Eagle ferry.

Rod Drew:It provided the opportunity to chat to members of the Olympic Torch Relay team and the chance to meet Roderick Drew.

You’re probably wondering “Who’s Roderick Drew?”. Well Roderick, who lives in Dorset, has been following the Olympic Torch Relay on his bicycle.

Roderick had two hip operations back in 2002 and just ten years later took on the challenge to cycle 4,000 miles with the Olympic Torch.

Youth reporters record podcast
Our two youth reporters, Alpha and Sasha took the opportunity to ask Roderick a few questions about his motivation, fundraising, wrong turns and punctures amongst other things!

Do take a few minutes out to listen to Alpha and Sasha’s interview with Rod. He was a thoroughly lovely chap, doing a great thing.

Roderick’s challenge has not been all in vain, for he’s raising as much money as he can for Macmillan Cancer Support along the way. If you can, do show your support by visiting Roderick’s Website and making a donation.
