A little bird has told us that Cllr David Pugh, currently Leader of the Isle of Wight council, has been selected to run as a Conservative in a seat in the Midlands, with the ambition of becoming an MP in the Houses of Parliament.
Shortly before publishing this article, we left a message on his mobile, but we have yet to hear back (See update below).
David has been upping his National profile with articles published in this name in The Guardian; the Local Government Chronicle and the Conservative Home Website.
He also attended the Conservative party conference last week.
We await David’s confirm/deny response with interest.
