The Conservative Party on the Isle of Wight have completed their candidate selection process – which translates to them deciding which of their prospective councillors will be standing in each of the Island’s wards at the next local election in May 2013.
Officially they’re remaining very tight-lipped about it, although unsurprisingly there are rumours buzzing around.
Cllr David Pugh
One of those rumours was that Cllr David Pugh hadn’t been selected for his Shanklin ward. VB have followed up with David and he’s keeping the mystery high saying, “As part of my continuing communication with the residents of Shanklin South I will let them know of my intentions – and that of the Conservative Party – in due course.”
Those who are getting excited about Cllr Pugh having a bumpy ride should perhaps hold back a little – word that reaches us is that Cllr Pugh has in fact been selected, without opposition.
We’ll bring you the official word when it’s released.
Do you know more?
If you know more, we would, of course, be fascinated to hear.
