Readers may have seen our earlier report on the outcome of the recent Ofsted Inspection at Ryde Academy.
The information has been long-awaited by parents and a letter from the Principal and Chair of Governors sent out today reveals what might’ve been behind the delay.
It says,
We apologise for the delay in informing you of the outcome of the inspection, but the publication date has been delayed due to major issues arising from the manner in which the original inspection was carried out.
The Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), on behalf of the Academy, made a formal complaint to Ofsted and as a result, a number of significant changes have been made to their original findings.
Following receipt of the report just before the half term break, the Governing Body has made further representations to Ofsted and have requested their continued inquiry into the complaint made by AET in respect of the process and subsequent judgements made. We have particular concerns over statements in the report relating to the Ofsted inspectors’ observations on behaviour and safety of students.
The actual Ofsted Report is yet to be published on the Ofsted Website, but once it is, we will upload.
The letter is embedded below for your convenience.
