Ben Ainslie Racing - Ryde Academy by Holly Smith

Ryde Academy pupils lend at hand at new Ben Ainslie Racing HQ

Thanks to Nat for the update. Ed

Students were really excited and proud to be part of this event despite the wet weather!

They spent the morning working on the mural, adding pieces that are associated with the Island and Ryde in particular, including an image of the Needles, a Seaplane (which used to be made on the Island), the Scooter Festival and a red squirrel.

Sir Ben Ainslie and the Minister for Portsmouth visited and spent time talking to students about their work.

Look out for the artwork
Next time you’re arriving in Portsmouth on the car Ferry look to your right and you should see our work on display.

Mr Butler, Teacher of Art said,

“Our students were exemplary on the day, both with the artwork that they produced and their behaviour. The students not only had a fantastic time meeting dignitaries but worked directly with street artists and other art students from a range of schools. The work produced was shown on two different news broadcasts! Well done all involved.”
