Ryde and District Round Table raises £16,000 for charity at James Bond ball

Last updated:

In November, Ryde and District Round Table played host to a James Bond themed ball in aid of two fantastic charities: Sarcoma UK and the Daisy Ring Bus for Isle of Wight cancer patients.

Following the success of the two previous annual dinner and dance events, the group were keen to continue growing, and this year they welcomed their largest number of guests to the Lakeside Park Hotel and Spa.

With the support from event sponsors HT Advisory and Blanchard Fields Ltd, and generous donations from several local businesses, Ryde and District Round Table were able to organise another fun packed evening of great entertainment, food and fundraising activities.

The venue was elegantly decorated for the black tie event, with over 120 guests contributing to a hugely successful and memorable evening which raised £16,000 for charity.

O’Donnell: Planning has already begun for 2026
James O’Donnell, President of Ryde and District Round Table said,

“It has been incredibly rewarding for Ryde and District Round table to be able to continue growing our fundraising efforts and to this year support charities that are close to the groups heart.

“Our members work extremely hard to organise the event alongside their day jobs and family commitments, and it was an honour to front the evening and to see everyone’s efforts come together so seamlessly on the night.

“Thank you to all our members, contributors and guests – our continued success would not be possible without you. Planning has already begun for 2026 and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”

In addition to their annual dinner and dance, the group also hosted the Ryde Santa Dash Event in aid of Mountbatten Hospice and the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group. Collectively their efforts have helped to raise more than £20,500 for charities during 2025.
