Many people around the Island are shocked by the near-destruction of the Ryde Castle in the fire that started at around 10pm last night, only being put out this morning.
It’s images like the incredible one taken by Dave Russell (right and below) of Wight Media Services that will stay with people for a long time.
A place to leave your memories of the Ryde Castle
@Tobes1 got in touch with VB earlier this evening, suggesting that we put up a Web page where people can share their memories of the Ryde Castle, that has been a part of so many people on the Island.
We thought it was a great idea and are happy to help.
Just leave them below
One of Tobes1’s examples was his 93 year old Nan remembering going there as a teenager for Tea dances.
We know lots of people have been married there too, so we just know that there’s got to be lots more, so feel free to leave them below, or send them to us via Social media or email and we’ll gather them all together.
