Ryde Harriers: Keep on running despite the heat

Ninham Nightmare
Ryde Harriers multi terrain series continued on Tuesday 9th July with the Ninham Nightmare 6.8 miles run at Sandown with joint winners Andrew Lewis and Bridget Lewis in a time of 64.56 which was four seconds inside their nominated times.

Third was Stephen Lee in a time of 67.39, 21 seconds inside his nomination. Fastest man was Tom Blackwell in a time of 48.47 and joint fastest ladies were Mary Norman and Sarah Kavanagh in times of 54.25.

Appley Park Farm
Meanwhile back in Ryde the Appley Park Farm 5.7 miles run was won by Sean Furmidge in a time of 48.41, five seconds outside of his nominated time.

Second was new member Brian Warren in a time of 56.37 which was 23 seconds inside of his nominated time and third was Richard Lashley in a time of 47.36, 24 seconds inside his nomination. Fastest man was Club Secretary Rowland Sillito in a time of 41.22 and fastest lady was Welfare Officer Julie King in a time of 42.46.

New Forest race
Also at the weekend two members travelled to the New Forest to run a ten mile race. First Harrier home was Sally Roberts in a time of 1.32.20 and second was Cherry Shannon in a time of 1.35.20.
