Ryde School’s Open Morning: Tour, talks and a chance to join in with experiments and activities

Ryde School is the leading independent day and boarding school on the Isle of Wight for children aged two to 18-years-old.

Open Morning
If you’re considering education options for your child or children, why not book today to attend the full school Open Morning on Saturday 7th October 2023 between 10am to 12.30pm.

It’s the perfect opportunity to meet teachers, pupils, tour the school and hear about their excellent GCSE results. Last summer pupils celebrated the best GCSE results at the school since introduction of 9-1 grading. You’ll also be able to hear about the exceptional year for A level and IB results.

Sixth Form
If you are interested in the Sixth Form at Ryde, please visit the Open Morning and follow up with a visit to the Sixth Form Information Evening on Monday 16th October between 6pm and 8.30pm (book here).

What to expect
The Open Morning is a chance to chat with pupils, teachers and parents, as well as joining in with experiments and activities and see what Ryde has to offer pupils through Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form. 

Ryde School’s Head Master, Will Turner, will be on site to welcome visitors, and will be presenting talks to parents and prospective pupils. 

You can expect to hear a talk from the Head Master, there’ll be an opportunity to talk with Heads of Departments and pupils, as well as tours or the school buildings and the two new boarding houses in the school grounds. 

An Island school with a global outlook
Ryde School welcomes not only a diverse community from across the Island – from West Wight to Ventnor – but also many pupils who travel the short distance across the Solent from Portsmouth and surrounding areas (a Hover Nanny service can be arranged if required).

There is also a growing number of international students and UK boarders from Scotland through to the USA and beyond.

The school offers full, flexi and weekly boarding options available in two new boarding houses within the school grounds, as well as an exciting extra-curricular programme, including competitive sailing.

Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships and Bursaries are available to apply for 2024 entry into Years 7, 9 and Sixth Form.

Please note ALL scholarship and bursary applications must be received by October 30th 2023.
