Ryde Town Plan Consultation BeginsRyde Town Council is starting the public consultation process for the development of a Town Plan for Ryde.

The contents of the plan will be driven by what residents, businesses and organisations wish to see in the town over the next ten years.

A Town Plan Steering Group will oversee the process and will consist of representatives of the Town and IW Council, community groups, interest areas and the voluntary sector.

The first meeting will be held in the Upper Meeting Room in the George Street Centre, Ryde, at 6.30pm on Thursday 25th March, and is open to members of the public.

I know… how about re building Ryde Esplanade Station and Bus Station. It could certainly stand some improvement. Perhaps it could become sort of a… Gateway To The Island….

Chris

Personally i’d prefer it if they rebuilt and restored the station to its victorian condition; it would be far more appropriate and, crucially, achievable.

Brian

Thanks, Chris, my thoughts exactly. The shop fronts opposite are being restored as far as possible, so why not the station?

David

I’m sorry, but if the rail-station and interchange was done to that standard, I think I’d rather have it as it is- those shop fronts look awful.

Perhaps they could paint it green and call the Gateway to Eco Island, then again maybe just promise to eventually paint it green at some unspecified point in the future
