Ryde’s High Street becomes a canvas for colourful Children’s Carnival despite wet weather

The wet weather did not dampen spirits at the Children’s Carnival in Ryde last Saturday.

The bright carnival costumes brought a splash of colour to the streets of Ryde, as the children and adults paraded through the High Street, including the impressive Green Man puppet.

This huge puppet was created during a masterclass for New Carnival creative volunteers and freelance artists by Andrew and Kathy Kim, from internationally acclaimed Thingumijig Theatre company.

Our thanks to Christopher Jackson for sharing his photos of the event.
