The wet weather did not dampen spirits at the Children’s Carnival in Ryde last Saturday.
The bright carnival costumes brought a splash of colour to the streets of Ryde, as the children and adults paraded through the High Street, including the impressive Green Man puppet.
This huge puppet was created during a masterclass for New Carnival creative volunteers and freelance artists by Andrew and Kathy Kim, from internationally acclaimed Thingumijig Theatre company.

There are three more carnival events to catch this season: Sandown Illuminated on Wednesday 28th August (8.30pm from Culver Parade); the Main Ryde Carnival on Thursday 29th August (6.30pm from the Esplanade); and Ryde Illuminated on Saturday 31st August (8.30pm from the Esplanade).
