Last night at around 8pm we started getting the heads up from VB readers that broadband around the Sandown area was out of action – it looked like it was working, but people found they couldn’t access their favourite sites.
BT initially thought it would be fixed in a couple of hours, but we hear that people’s connections are still currently down.
The official word is, “Our engineers are working to resolve this problem and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Update: It’s unclear if this has just hit BT Broadband customers or all broadband customers on the Sandown exchange. Do let us know if you’ve got access.
Update 2: Thanks for the comment on here, via email, Facebook and Twitter – Sounds like it’s just BT customers that are being hit by this outage.
Cross-fingers for a quick fix for them.
Update 31.Mar.10: We heard from Ian (in Sandown) that his connection came up at about 6pm tonight, so guess everyone’s up and running now.
