Sandown’s carnival parade charms thousands: A visual feast (photos)

Thousands flocked to Sandown on Saturday to see a spectacular Main Carnival parade round off a day of entertainment.

Paul Coueslant shares these great photos from the event, which included community groups, schools, four marching bands and decorated floats from around the Island, as well as TV stars Josh Widdicombe and Nish Kumar who were covering the event for Sky’s Hold the Front Page.

Shademakers returned with dazzling costumes and Sandown’s Joel Lines, a Central Saint Martins fashion graduate, showcased his final degree show costume.
