Second place for Isle of Wight trauma team in World Rescue Challenge

Congratulations to Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service’s trauma team who took second place in the 2015 World Rescue Challenge.

The event brings together team from around the world to compete annually “designed to challenge emergency service personnel by developing and enhancing their existing skills and to help raise awareness of the global problem of road death and injury”.

World Rescue Organisation
The event is put together by the World Rescue Organisation (WRO) which is a not for profit organisation based in Newport.

The WRO was created to “assist with the dissemination of emergency rescue and medical techniques, practices and procedures to aid the effective management of Road Traffic Collisions and the care of those involved”.

Well done Hampshire
Well done to neighbours, Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service, who came in the top three in four categories of the Challenge.

This year’s event took place in Lisboa, Portugal and next year it’ll head to Brazil.
