Arthur Venables of team …a3crg kicked off his 2015 season on Sunday morning, with a second place finish in the two rider team time trial race, which started over in Midhurst on the mainland.
The conditions were less than ideal for the time trial, with a mixture of rain and strong winds on the 22.5 mile course.
While the course itself provided its own challenges, including the daunting Harting Hill which averaged 10% for a mile, and had a leg sapping maximum gradient of 23%.
Venables and his teammate Patrick Brennan worked together to complete the course in a respectable time of 1:03:44, with an average speed of 21.18mph, earning them second place.
