Secondary School Open Days For Current Year 6 Pupils And Parents

Thanks to Wendy for preparing this very useful list of open evenings. In her own words. Ed

School doorOctober 28 is the Council’s deadline for applying for school places for next year (September 2012 entry).

With the Isle of Wight’s school reorganisation having been completed this year, pupils now move up from primary to secondary school at the end of Year 6, so for a lot of parents this is unfamiliar territory.

Take advantage of open days/evenings
Probably the best way to get a feel for the new secondary set-up is to visit the schools.

Some have already had their open days for prospective Year 7 pupils and their parents, but here’s a list of the remaining secondary school open days, along with links to all the schools’ own Web sites, so you can get in touch if would like to visit, or need more information.

You may want to read the Council’s school admissions policy.
