We love hearing about fantastic charity challenges that take place on or around the Isle of Wight.
Windsurfers will be praying for just the right type of wind next week, as six men attempt to windsurf their way around the Isle of Wight for charity.
£15,000 is the target for the group of military windsurfers, hoping to raise much needed cash for several forces charities.
The majority of the funds will go to Help For Heroes, with the remaining cash being split between The Royal Navy And Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Weather permitting, the challenge takes place from next Monday (13th) and should take the windsurfers around ten hours to navigate around the Island.
You can donate by visiting their Just Giving page and don’t forget to cheer them on if you see them passing next week (they were planning the challenge for October, but have brought it forward to September, so ignore the fact it says 1/10/10)
