The Environment Agency issued a flood alert for several areas on the Isle of Wight.
Cowes, East Cowes, and Newport
They warned that flooding is expected for coastal areas at Cowes and East Cowes, and tidal areas of Newport and that flooding was expected in this area.
This means properties at risk of flooding.
The EA say,
“Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions.
“Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have.”

Simeon Street Rec Ground, Ryde
Just before lunchtime, they also issued a flood warning for Simeon Street Rec Ground, Ryde.
They said that flooding is possible for Monktonmead Brook at Rink Road, Marymead Close, West Hill Road, Simeon Street and The Strand and warn residents to be prepared as flooding is possible in this area.
As many properties are still pumping water out from flooding earlier in the week, they’ll be relieved to hear that the council have confirmed the flood barriers at the Rec have been raised.
The EA say,
“Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.”
