Thanks to Tony Compton from Shanklin Rotary for sharing this great news with us over the weekend. In his own words. Ed
Shanklin Rotary has now closed the Sale doors for the January 2012 period, led by Club President, Mike Jones, and his regular team to a resounding final total of £46,337.19p!
This figure finally flew past the 2011 figure of £44,565 by almost £2,000!
The President and all Club members plus helpers can surely by proud of such an achievement in these difficult financial times.
Thanks to Islanders for their support
Gratitude has to go to all Islanders who kindly donated items, not only for this Sale but throughout 2011 as a good stock of goods for sale was built up to be able to offer in the two weeks of January 2012.
Shaklin Rotary, by achieving another staggering figure to plough back into the local community, has secured its place as the leading Charity Island Fundraising Event of the year.
Gratitude also goes to the public who ventured day by day to the Saleroom to snap up the very wide range of exceptional quality and value for money items that were available.
Rotary took time when collecting through 2011 to ensure that only quality items were stored ready for the 2012 Sale.
