If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to dig out your favourite album cover or create your own artwork to be part of the Record Store Day exhibition at Ventnor Exchange on Saturday (23rd April).
The albums will be displayed in specially-created Art Vinyl frames, along with descriptions from all those sharing their favourite album covers, as to what makes that particular album so special to them.
The covers shared with Tony Collins, who is organising the exhibition, will go on display in the Blue Room Gallery at Ventnor Exchange.
How to take part
Once you’ve found your favourite album cover, all you need to do is include a small description of why you love that particular album/cover artwork, and then drop that and the cover (keep your vinyl at home) off to Ventnor Exchange, High Street, Ventnor or contact [email protected] to arrange a pick-up.
Create your own covers
For the more creative types, you can also submit your own original artwork inspired by your favourite album.
These will be displayed on another wall in the gallery. Make sure you work to the same dimensions as albums (31.43cm squared) so they fit in the frames.
Covers carefully cherished
Our friends over at Ventnor Exchange say all the album covers will be carefully cherished and returned once the exhibition is over.
Record Store Day
Record Store Day takes place at Ventnor Exchange on Saturday 23rd April. There’ll be a full day of live music, DJs and even a Pop Quiz in the evening.
