Members of the Isle of Wight Executive last night voted on new policy that will affect shopkeepers across the Island.
A 28 day consultation started at the end of last year canvassing views of Islanders and businesses to start charging for tables, chairs, A-boards and other objects placed on the pavement outside businesses.
Executive members last night voted to remove “A-boards and Planters” from the policy, which was otherwise agreed.
Gary Hall from Plaza Ice in Cowes got in touch and told OnTheWight,
“Common sense has prevailed.”
He’s sharing the good news with anyone passing by his establishment in Cowes by advertising the news on his A-board.
Full details of the proposals can be found in the paper below.
