Six Bailed In Connection With Arson and Theft From Church

Police blue lightPolice can confirm six people arrested after a report of arson and theft at a church on the Isle of Wight were bailed as an investigation continues.

An 18-year-old man from Ryde, a 23-year-old man from Sandown, and a 15-year-old boy, a 20-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old man all from Newport, Isle of Wight were questioned in custody.

The six suspects were later bailed by police until December 18, 2011 pending further enquiries.

Police would like to thank members of the public who have come forward with information so far after officers were called to St Mary’s the Virgin Church in Carisbrooke near Newport at 5.30pm on Sunday, November 27, 2011.
