Skate Liberation Fundraiser CD

Jackson AnalogueThe number of Island-based bands and musicians who have come on board for the Save Ventnor Skate Park fundrasing CD has been amazing.

When the Isle of Council threatened demolition of the skate park last month, unless someone came forward to take sign the lease and take control of it, many people rallied round and got involved.

When a request went out to Island bands and musician to get involved in a fundraising CD, such was the response that the first volume is already full with a second in the pipeline.

Paul Butler of The Bees has offered to master the compilation and Aaron Fletcher (The Bees/Blank Beats) is working on the cover design (not the picture above which is, of course, Jackson Analogue). Given the success of Aaron’s art exhibition at Quay Arts two and a half years ago, expect these CDs to become collector items.

Named Skate Liberation Transitions Volume #1, the CD will be priced at £10 and for that very reasonable price you can get a load of the following bands.

Jet Harris from The Shadows
Wild Oats (they are creating a brand new track just for CD – nice one lads)
The Bees
Jackson Analogue
Zinc Stoat
Shanklin Freak Show
The Peas
Bastila
Motion Pictures – She is Gone
Santa Spirita
Woz World
Hugo Frusslinky
The Shutes
Cooly Haste and Barnsy
The Chancers
Lectroluxe
Blank Beats
The Waxworks
Lucky Elephant
and finally The Organism

We’re sure you’ll agree that’s quite a compilation. As soon as we hear of stockists and release dates we’ll let you know.
