Smallbrook roundabout, Ryde has been undergoing some significant changes over the last six months.
What was previously a fairly simple mini-roundabout has now been transformed into a junction with far more safety measures, after Island Roads identified Smallbrook as a priority area for action based on accident data.
Drivers approaching from east and westerly directions will notice the roundabout is now offset to the right and left, and they can no longer drive straight across, but have to turn into the roundabout to take any of the exits.

Outstanding items
Island Roads say the only outstanding work on the project will be the final installation of some streetlighting columns in the coming weeks under four-way traffic lights and the application of the anti-skid surfacing (this cannot be done straight after resurfacing) which is anticipated to be undertaken in June/July 2022.
