Female Stonechat

Have you spotted a Stonechat chattering near you?

Our thanks to Anna Mustchin from Freshwater for sharing this great shot she took last week.

Whilst on a walk at Kingston, Isle of Wight, on Friday 6th March, Anna managed to capture a photo of this beautiful female Stonechat.

According to the RSPB there are approximately 59,000 breeding pairs in the UK and you can recognise the birds from their sharp loud call, that sounds like two stones being tapped together – hence the name Stonechat.

Doesn’t she look wonderful.
