The family of ten year old Evey Staley, who tragically lost her life due to a drink and drug driver, are set to enjoy a free holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.
Over two and a half thousand people voted for Neal and his family in the competition run by Cottage Holidays.
Neal was on a shortlist of three in the running for the free break, but Cottage Holidays were so overwhelmed by the inspirational stories they heard during the campaign, they decided to give three runners-up a well-earned break as well as the overall winner.
An inspiration to us all
Organsiers of the competition said,
“When the public voted overwhelmingly for Neal Staley to go to the Yorkshire Dales, it was he who prompted the team at Cottage Holidays to think about giving the others a free break instead of the proposed money-off vouchers.
“Their mind was quickly made up – it was the right thing to do – so all four finalists will now be going on free breaks.
“Neal is an amazing man and an inspiration to us all! The other three unsung heroes of this first “Who Deserves a Break?” campaign were Lisa Weekes from Devon, Keely Long from Kent and Hayley Burwood from Norfolk.”
