Ryde Rowing Club member and Hants & Dorset Amateur Rowing Association Secretary Steve Bull, with his wife Josie, were invited to attend the 2012 British Rowing Volunteer Awards Luncheon 2012 held at The Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London on Saturday (17th November) where he was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Chairman of British Rowing, Di Ellis, CBE.
To mark the occasion of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee British Rowing had decided to award sixty medals to volunteers nominated by members of British Rowing.
The medals acknowledge the contribution made by individuals who have gone “that extra mile for the sport and who through their dedication have provided a legacy for rowing” Steve’s citation read
“Secretary of the Hants & Dorset whose organisational skills are second to none. Serves Water Safety in Wessex with energy, passion and dedication. A rowing “stalwart” he will be a very hard act to follow if he ever decides to retire.”
Well done Steve, sounds like the award was well deserved.
