Joining the list of total legens playing at the Summer Madness event this August is the one and only, Jerry Dammers.
He was, of course, the founder of The Specials and we understand that he’s really chuffed about being able to play his favourite records on the Isle of Wight later in the month alongside Madness, Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band.
He said “I’m really pleased to play records for Madness again, as I did on their Christmas tour years ago – it should be fun”
Also joining the lineup and complementing the other acts really well is a band that we’ve not seen live before, but who sound certainly know who to please their audience, The Gentleman’s Dub Club.
This nine piece from Leeds have been on the music scene since 2006 and describe their style based in dub, ska and roots reggae. They’re sure to have the crowds at Carisbrooke warmed up nicely for the nutty boys before the headline in the evening.
They say that their gigs often end in a frenzied mosh pit reminiscent of a mid 80’s ska night, so should go down well at this event.
The days starts at 3pm, so bring a blanket to sit on. There’ll be plenty of catering and refreshments available on site.
