On Saturday night, VB reader Ally Nordburch Goode got in touch to let VB readers know about an incident that had just happened in Shanklin.
Ally told us that Wardle’s newsagents had Police tape across the front of it and went on to say that it had been held up by 14/15 year old, who was seen running away with a knife.
Police confirmed today that three teenagers were arrested after a robbery was reported at a shop in Shanklin but were unable to confirm or deny whether a knife was used in the robbery.
They did tell us, however, that the boys, aged 15, 15 and 16, all from the Island, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage.
They were taken to Newport Police Station for questioning, and bailed until November 4, 2011 pending further enquiries.
