Three young Islanders are planning a mega-trek next year, aiming to raise much needed money and awareness for those living in rural areas of Africa.
Mary Boyce, Ellie Boyce and Craig Willis are planning to hitch hike to Morocco to raise money for LINK Community Development. LCD is a charity that works on improving the quality of education in rural areas of Ethiopia, South Africa, Uganda, Malawi and Ghana.
“Neck down waxing”
To help raise cash to get them on their way, Islanders Ben Johnson and Leif Marriner will be taking part in what they call the ‘great big neck down waxing’.
They are looking for volunteers to carry out the waxing (full body, in every sense of the word).
Ben tells us that the waxing will take place in a public place (although modesty will be protected during waxing of delicate areas) so they’re looking for some screens to borrow for the event.
If you can help out with suggestions of a venue, loan of screens, portable waxing / massage couches then please get in touch with Ben Johnson or Leif Marriner on Facebook.
If you want to donate to the individual’s doing the trek to Morroco, they are CraigWillis, Ellie Boyce and Mary Boyce.
