The Hambrough Shortlisted for Conde Nast Johansens Award

The Hambrough Shortlisted for Conde Nast Johansens AwardVentnor’s very own boutique hotel, The Hambrough, has just been informed that they have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2009 Conde Nast Johansens Most Excellent Waterside Hotel Award.

Readers might remember that Robert Thompson, the youngest ever Michelin star chef joined the hotel back in July this year, following his success amongst other things as Head Chef at Cliveden.

We’re told that those lucky enough to go through to the finals, owe their position to guests who nominated them as well as regional inspector reports.

Great news for them and great news for Ventnor. The winner will be announced in two weeks time at the Annual Awards for Excellence ceremony up in the big smoke.

We’ll be routing for The Hambrough and will let you know as soon as we hear whether Manager, Daniel Edwards, will be stepping up onto the stage to collect the award.

We also learn through the grapevine that The Hambrough also has a place in the top five for the Island Life 2009 Restaurant of the Year. More on that later.
