Here at VB we love celebrating the fantastic talent that can be found on the Isle of Wight.
We’re big fans of the vibrant Island music scene and one band that came onto our radar a couple of years ago were The Operators.
The band’s first single, ‘Tonight’, from their forthcoming Album, ‘Old School
House’, is released on iTunes for download today.
Described as ‘suburban indie-funkers’ by Paul Lester from The Guardian, The Operators’ track features a combination of irresistibly rowdy beats and soulful, raw vocals.
The album, due out in June
Old School House comes on 27th June. The band describe it as “an ingeniously witty mash up of influences. Trampling through nineties Indie, dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass and house – sometimes even in the same track”¦ it shouldn’t work, but it does”.
If you want to support the band, they’re having their album launch on 7th June at Underbelly in Hoxton Square, London with support from Bluebell and Rob Cowen & the Dissidents.
