If you or others that you know are planning to take the Route 3 Southern Vectis bus, you should take a look at the information below.
Forces outside Southern Vectis’ control are resulting in them having to make a wide range of alterations to the route.
A total of five different changes are underway at the moment.
Diversion on the 2 and 3 due to the Brading High Street closure
31st Jan 2023 onwards
Diversions will be in place on the 2 and 3 because of roadworks on High Street Brading from 31st January until mid February, between 18.30 to 05.00 Mondays to Thursdays and 18.30 to 23.30 on Fridays.
Open over the weekends. A shuttle bus will run between Brading Car Park to Tesco and Ryde during the closure.
Yarbridge Cross
6th Feb 2023 onwards
Due to roadworks, Routes 2, 3, 62 and 72 are unable to serve the bus stops at Yarbridge Cross in Brading. The nearest stops will be at Devonia.
Route 3 – Leeson Road closure
13th Feb 2023 onwards
From 08:00 on 14th February until 17:00 on 3rd March Leeson Road will be closed.
The route 3 will be on diversion between Ventnor and Shanklin. As a result we will be unable to serve the following stops:
- Chimney Steps
- Bonchurch Shute
- Bonchurch Car Park
- Rosecliff Court
- Glenavon
- Corner Cottage
- Top of Cowleaze
- Church Road top
- Big Mead
- Daish’s
An alternative stop to Daish’s will be Shanklin Youth Club on Victoria Road
Route 2, 3 and 8 – Lake Hill closed
13th Feb 2023 onwards
Lake Hill is one way from 07:00 on the 13th February until 18:00 on the 5th March.
During this time Routes 2, 3 and 8 towards Ryde will be unable to serve the following stops:
- Lake Fairway
- Sandown Heights
Victoria Rd, Sandown Closed
Tuesday – 9:30- 15:30
Route 2 and 3 Ryde bound – Are Diverting via the Perowne Way Diversion, Avenue Rd, Culver Parade, Fort St and Avenue Rd to resume normal route .
Route 8 Ryde bound are diverting from the Broadway, Avenue Rd, Culver Parade to resume normal route.
Newport bound buses unaffected
